The Chamber has played its role effectively all these sixty
two years in advancing the cause of Trade and Industry. In the words of
Poet Long Fellow:-
“We judge ourselves by what we feel capable of doing,
While others judges us by what we have already done”.
Yes. We have played our part with dedication.
While we look back with pride of our dedicated service in the past sixty two years we also fully realize that in the coming years of fast changing scenario the responsibility of a Chamber will be greater and we will have to face greater challenges.
Let us re-dedicate ourselves to this noble task and lead the chamber march forward and continue as a Beacon Light to Trade and Industry.

The Tamil Chamber of Commerce organized a function
for felicitating Dr.Nalli Kuppuswami Chetti, Patron of the Chamber
on his appointment as Chairman of Board of Trustees, Sri Kapaleeswar
Temple, Chennai, Government of Tamilnadu and also for felicitating
Thiru P.S.Rangasamy Chetty, a Prominent Member of the Chamber on
his appointment as Member of the All India Handloom Board, Ministry
of Textiles, New Delhi on Friday, the 9th February 2007 at GRT Convention
Centre, T.Nagar, Chennai. Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Textiles Thiru E.V.K.S.Elangovan presided over the function. Dr.S.Ramachandran, Vice Chancellor, University of Madras was the Chief Guest of the evening. Thiru R.M.Palanisami, M.L.A, and Thiru A.Natarajan, Former Director-Doordarshan were the Guests of Honour. In the function Rs.50,000/- were contributed by the Convenor and the Co-Chairman of the Building Committee Mr.Chozha Naachiar Rajasekar from the surplus advertisement revenue of the Special Edition of the Chennai Port Trust to the Permanent Building Fund of the Chamber. In the Felicitation Function, Thiru E.V.K.S.Elangovan, Honourable Union Minister for State for Textiles presented the Mementos to Dr.Nalli Kuppuswami Chetti and Thiru P.S.Rangasamy Chetty. |

released the Chennai Port Special Edition on 16th January 2007 to
commemorate the completion of 125th Year of the Chennai Port Trust.
The Special Edition was released by Thiru K.Suresh, IAS, Chairman,
Chennai Port Trust and Thiru S.Velumani, Chairman cum Managing Director,
Ennore Port Limited received the First copy of the Edition at the
Chennai Port Trust. Mr.G.J.Rao, IAS, Deputy Chairman of the Chennai
Port Trust, Thiru Chozha Naachiar Rajasekar, Trustee, Chennai Port
Trust and Vice President of The Tamil Chamber of Commerce and Deputy
Chairman of Paradip Port were others to receive the copy of the
